The Eventworks Festival → May 2nd & 3rd, 2025
The Eventworks Festival is a showcase of local contemporary artists, with a focus on experimental electronic sound, art, and performance. Through a collection of performances and artist talks, we aim to highlight the current and future state of these artforms and the people behind them. We invite artists to explore what they can’t do anywhere else, offering a space for emerging contemporary work to exist. To honor the tradition of the Eventworks Festival first held in 1977, our exhibition shares past Eventworks archives as well as the current Eventworks team’s body of work.
Electronic art and sound is ever-evolving, making it the art of now and the future. It is a big part of the Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM) major at MassArt and its history as it is a new and boundary breaking artform. As we were born into the digital age, it has impacted our practices and the way we view the world. Because of this, we found the theme of electronic mediums to be both historically and personally important.
The festival aims to give back to our community, creating a free opportunity to connect diverse artists, audience, and producers.
